Position Summary
Kids First Neighborhood Childcare is seeking a caring, dependable, and enthusiastic Preschool Teacher to join our team. The Preschool Teacher is responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging classroom environment where children can learn, grow, and develop age-appropriate academic, social, emotional, and self-help skills.

Essential Responsibilities

• Provide attentive, nurturing, and responsive care to children throughout the day.
• Plan and implement age-appropriate educational activities and lesson plans.
• Support children’s cognitive, language, social-emotional, physical, and creative development.
• Maintain a safe, clean, organized, and welcoming classroom environment.
• Follow daily schedules, classroom routines, and center policies.
• Supervise children at all times and maintain appropriate classroom ratios.
• Encourage positive behavior, cooperation, independence, and problem-solving skills.
• Communicate professionally and respectfully with parents and guardians regarding their child’s daily experiences and development.
• Complete required classroom documentation, attendance records, daily reports, and child observations.
• Work collaboratively with fellow teachers, administration, and support staff.
• Participate in staff meetings, trainings, classroom preparation, and center activities.
• Follow all applicable childcare licensing regulations, health and safety procedures, and Kids First policies.
• Assist with meals, diapering/toileting, handwashing, nap/rest time, transitions, and other daily care routines as needed.
• Create a positive classroom atmosphere where every child feels welcomed, supported, and valued.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with young children preferred.
• Early Childhood Education (ECE) experience or education preferred.
• Must be dependable, responsible, patient, and compassionate.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to maintain a professional and positive attitude in a busy childcare environment.
• Must meet all applicable childcare licensing and employment requirements.

Job Type: Full-Time or Part-Time

Age Requirement: 18+

Pay: $12.00 - $14.00 per hour
