Duties

• Develop and implement age-appropriate curricula that incorporate literacy education, math, physical education, and Montessori methods to stimulate cognitive and social skills.
• Create a nurturing classroom environment that encourages exploration, independence, and positive behavior management.
• Plan engaging lesson plans aligned with early childhood education standards and tailored to individual developmental needs.
• Monitor and document each child's progress through assessments, standardized testing when applicable, and ongoing observations to inform instruction.
• Communicate regularly with parents or guardians to share insights on their child's development, behavior, and achievements, fostering strong home-school connections.
• Ensure compliance with mandated reporting laws and maintain child welfare by adhering to health, safety, and first aid protocols including CPR certification.
• Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, special education strategies, early intervention programs, and classroom activities to support diverse learners.

Skills

• Extensive experience working with children across preschool age groups; familiarity with toddler care is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of childhood development principles, behavior management techniques, and classroom management strategies.
• Proficiency in curriculum development encompassing literacy education, math instruction, physical education, and Montessori methods.
• Ability to communicate effectively with children, parents, colleagues, and community partners about developmental milestones and educational strategies.
• Experience with special education needs and early intervention programs to support children requiring additional assistance.
• Knowledge of mandated reporting laws related to child welfare and safety regulations; certification in first aid and CPR is required.
• Demonstrated ability to plan lessons that incorporate standardized testing when necessary while maintaining an engaging learning environment.
• Skilled in using classroom experience to foster inclusive learning environments that respect diverse backgrounds and abilities.
