Preschool Teacher (Float)

Building Blocks Nursery School (www.buildingblocksnurseryschool.org), located in the Bryant neighborhood of Seattle, is looking to hire a part-time float teacher to support both our classrooms (Juniors with 2-3 year olds and Preschool with 4-5 year olds). Hours are flexible, 20-30 hours per week.

Job duties include:

-Interact positively with all children and families

-Help implement curriculum as directed by lead and assistant teachers

-Clean, organize and maintain the classrooms and school

-Supervise children during teacher breaks, including both inside and outside play-time

-Perform other tasks as assigned/necessary

Required Qualifications

-Be a minimum of 18 years of age

-Must hold a High School Diploma/GED

-At least one-year professional experience working with children

-Excellent communication skills with children, staff, parents, and administration

-Self-starter with strong accountability

-CPR/First Aid/BBP training

-Able to routinely kneel, bend, crouch and sit on the floor for extended periods of time

-Able to stand, walk and sit on child sized chairs throughout the day

-Must meet state licensing requirements for education and additional center/school requirements
