Duties

• Develop and implement age-appropriate curricula that support early childhood development, including literacy, math, physical education, and social skills.
• Design engaging lesson plans that incorporate Montessori methods and other educational best practices to enhance learning experiences.
• Manage classroom behavior with positive reinforcement strategies and effective behavior management techniques.
• Provide individualized support for children with special education needs or those requiring early intervention services.
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about children’s progress, milestones, and any concerns related to child welfare or development.
• Ensure classroom safety by adhering to mandated reporting laws, maintaining cleanliness, and practicing first aid and CPR when necessary.
• Collaborate with colleagues to plan activities that promote child welfare, childhood development, and inclusive learning environments.

Experience

• Prior experience working with young children in a preschool or daycare setting is essential.
• Demonstrated knowledge of child development principles and early childhood education methodologies such as Montessori or standard preschool curricula.
• Experience developing curriculum content across subjects including literacy education, math, physical education, and toddler care.
• Proven ability to manage a classroom effectively through classroom management techniques and behavior management strategies.
• Familiarity with special education practices, early intervention programs, and working with children requiring additional support is highly desirable.
• Strong communication skills for parent engagement and team collaboration are required.
• Certification in first aid and CPR is preferred; ongoing professional development in childhood development or mandated reporting laws is a plus.
