LIFE Four Corners Child Development Center is a nonprofit, minority woman-led, family-operated early childhood program dedicated to serving children and families in the Burlington community.

We provide a nurturing, inclusive, and engaging environment where children can learn, grow, and thrive. Our center participates in Grow NJ Kids and uses Teaching Strategies Creative Curriculum and GOLD to support developmentally appropriate learning, assessment, and kindergarten readiness.

Position Overview

We are seeking a caring and enthusiastic Pre-K Teacher to join our team.

The ideal candidate enjoys working with young children and understands the importance of creating a classroom that is safe, structured, engaging, and fun. Our teachers play an important role in supporting each child's social-emotional, language, cognitive, physical, and early academic development.

Responsibilities

As a Pre-K Teacher, you will:

• Plan and implement engaging, developmentally appropriate learning experiences using Creative Curriculum
• Support children's kindergarten readiness through hands-on, intentional, and play-based learning
• Create a warm, welcoming, organized, and inclusive classroom environment
• Complete ongoing observations and developmental documentation using Teaching Strategies GOLD
• Maintain active supervision and required child-to-staff ratios at all times
• Establish consistent classroom routines and expectations
• Use positive guidance, redirection, and age-appropriate behavior-support strategies
• Communicate regularly and professionally with families through Brightwheel, conferences, and daily interactions
• Build positive relationships with children and families
• Collaborate with fellow teachers, administrators, families, and support professionals
• Maintain accurate classroom records and required documentation
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized learning environment
• Participate in staff meetings, professional development, family events, field trips, and center activities
• Participate in Grow NJ Kids quality-improvement initiatives
• Bring creativity, enthusiasm, and new ideas to the classroom and program

Qualifications

We welcome candidates at different stages of their early childhood education careers.

Candidates should:

• Have a High School Diploma or equivalent
• Have a genuine passion for working with young children
• Be dependable, patient, nurturing, energetic, and professional
• Have strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Be able to work collaboratively as part of a teaching team
• Be willing to participate in ongoing professional development
• Meet all applicable New Jersey child care licensing requirements

Previous experience working with preschool or Pre-K children is preferred.

CDA Requirement

Professional growth is an important part of employment at LIFE Four Corners.

Candidates who do not currently hold a CDA, Associate's Degree, or Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field must enroll in a CDA credential program within 30 days of hire.

Scholarship opportunities may be available through NJCCIS for eligible candidates pursuing their CDA.

Compensation

Starting pay is based on education, credentials, and relevant early childhood experience:

• High School Diploma + 1–3 years of relevant child care experience$17.00/hour
