Job Overview

We are seeking a passionate and energetic Preschool Spanish Assistant Teacher to join our vibrant early childhood education team. In this role, you will support classroom activities, assist with lesson implementation, and help foster a positive, engaging environment where young children can thrive and develop foundational skills. Full time only 8am-5pm, must be a fluent Spanish speaker, must have 12 ECE units from acceptable college. Must be vaccinated - MMR, Tdap and COVID. Negative TB test within the past 2 years. Must fill out an I9 and legally allowed to work in the US.

Responsibilities

• Assist lead teachers in planning and executing engaging lesson plans that incorporate Spanish language instruction, literacy, math, and early childhood development principles
• Support classroom management by maintaining a safe, organized, and nurturing environment conducive to learning and exploration
• Help facilitate language immersion activities that promote speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills in Spanish for preschool-aged children
• Collaborate with teachers to observe student progress, document developmental milestones, and adapt instructional strategies as needed
• Provide individualized support to children with diverse learning needs, including those requiring special education or additional behavioral assistance
• Assist with classroom routines such as circle time, snack time, outdoor play, and nap periods to ensure smooth transitions throughout the day
• Communicate effectively with children, parents, and team members to foster a positive educational community focused on growth and development

Qualifications

• Fluency in Spanish is required; proficiency in English is required for effective communication with staff and families
• Must have at least 12 units in Early Childhood Education
• Prior experience working with young children in an educational or childcare setting is highly preferred
• Knowledge of early childhood education practices, including Montessori or other specialized curricula such as toddler care or preschool teaching methods
• Fluency in Spanish is required; proficiency in English is required for effective communication with staff and families
• Strong classroom management skills with the ability to create an inclusive and supportive environment
• Familiarity with curriculum development, lesson planning, literacy education, and classroom management assistance
• Experience working with individuals with disabilities or in special education roles is a plus
• Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with teachers, parents, and students
• Technical proficiency in educational tools or software used for documentation or curriculum planning is advantageous
• Demonstrated understanding of childhood development principles across cognitive, social-emotional, and physical domains
• Previous private school experience or experience working within diverse school settings is desirable

Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
