Job description: Preschool Lead Teacher/Director

Join our talented team at Shepherd King Preschool, a small, faith based preschool where you can make the difference in the life of a child. We inspire children to be lifelong learners though our play-based curriculum. Shepherd King Preschool follows a school year calendar from September to June. Our operating hours are from 9am-4pm, 31 hours per week. Small class size! Compensation based on education and experience.

Lead Teacher/Director Requirements:

Must be at least 21 years old.

Have an associate degree, CDA or higher in the field of Early Childhood with transcripts including childcare administration course.

Employee must be capable of performing physical demands of the job.

Maintain CPR, First Aid and Blood Borne Pathogens certificate.

Pass a comprehensive background check with FBI fingerprints as required by the state

Must complete continuing education hours/training throughout the school year.

Strong oral, written, and communication skills plus computer skills.

Must meet all State of Michigan licensing requirements.

Maintain all appropriate records, daily notes and child portfolios with staff.

Develop and implement age appropriate lesson plans using approved Curriculum

Establish and maintain a positive, professional relationship with all co-workers and parents.

Work with the Assistant Teachers, Pastor, and the Preschool Board as needed.

Attend all staff training sessions, meetings and programs as required to promote our preschool- Additional paid time for occasional evening activities, special events or summer camps

Share in housekeeping and cleaning duties.

Additional Director Qualifications:

Preschool inquiries, Parent questions and tours

Paperwork for Students, Staff and Licensing

Establish and maintain policies and communicate them to staff and parents

Tuition billing

Licensing and staying up to date on new licensing rules and regulations

Maintain staff to child ratios as set by the state of Michigan

Keep accurate records essential for the control and evaluation of the program

Employee scheduling, including substitutes and time-off requests

Attendance of monthly board meetings and church council meetings

Marketing

Hire and train new employees

Job Type: Part-time

Day shift

Monday to Thursday

Work Location: In person

Pay: $22.00 - $27.00 per hour

Expected hours: 25.0 – 35.0 per week
