Preschool Lead Teacher

Job Overview:

As a Lead Teacher at our full-time preschool, The Chalkboard Preschool, you will play a vital role in creating a nurturing and stimulating environment where young minds can thrive. You will be responsible for leading a classroom of three-year-old children, implementing a curriculum that promotes development and fosters a love for learning in our students.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage a classroom of three-year-old children, ensuring a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate environment
• Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with The Chalkboard Preschool‘s play-based curriculum
• Provide a safe and inclusive learning environment that supports children's physical, social, emotional, cognitive, and language development
• Conduct regular assessments to track student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly
• Collaborate with parents and caregivers to support each child's individual educational needs
• Incorporate activities that cater to diverse developmental stages and accommodate children requiring special attention
• Foster a positive classroom atmosphere that encourages curiosity, creativity, and exploration
• Participate in staff meetings, professional development opportunities, and parent workshops to enhance teaching practices
• Mentor and support assistant teachers and classroom aides as needed

Skills:

• Experience working with three-year-old children in a full-time classroom setting
• Strong background in education for preschool-aged children
• Knowledge of child welfare principles and practices
• Ability to create effective lesson plans tailored to individual student needs
• Prior experience in toddler care and childcare settings
• Familiarity with Montessori or other progressive teaching methodologies
• Understanding of early intervention strategies for young learners
• Strong classroom management and communication skills

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years of preschool teaching experience, ideally with three-year-old children
• Proficiency in lesson planning and implementation
• Knowledge of child welfare practices and regulations
• Familiarity with Montessori teaching methods
• First Aid & CPR Training, preferred
• Ability to provide care for toddlers in a nurturing environment
• Strong communication and teaching skills
• Prior experience in a full-time childcare or preschool setting
• Early Childhood Education degree or relevant certification preferred

Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
