Preschool Lead Teacher

A Step By Step Learning Academy, Inc. is seeking qualified persons for long term employment in childcare to join our dynamic team. Applicants must have previous experience teaching early child care, be extremely reliable, dedicated and hardworking.

LEAD TEACHER Full-Time-Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

• Understand the developmental level(s) of young children and demonstrate it through lesson plans and activities
• Previously worked in a daycare setting
• Develop lesson plans based on A Step By Step's philosophy and curriculum of learning
• Meet the individual needs of children by supporting play, exploration, and learning
• Possess effective and professional communication skills with parents and other team members
• Complete accurate daily report for each child in the classroom
• Create a positive, safe and loving learning environment
• Present realistic expectations that are appropriate to age and developmental levels of the children in care
• Use assessment tools and observations to track individual child development
• Have a friendly, energetic nature and display it appropriately when communicating with children and parents
• Follow and maintain policies and procedures
• Posively collaborate and communicate with administration and other team members
• Adhere to all A Step By Step policies and procedures

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• 60 semester hours (or 90 quarter hours) of credit from an accredited college or university

with 6 semester hours (or 9 quarter hours) related directly to child care and/or child development, from birth to age six;

or

1 year of child development experience in a nursery school, kindergarten, or licensed day

care center and 30 semester hours (or 45 quarter hours) of credits with 6 semester (or 9 quarter hours) to child care and/or child development, from birth to age six;

Demonstrated knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices

Strong written and verbal communication skills

At least 19 years of age'
