Shining Stars Preschool & Daycare is growing! We are seeking an energetic, dependable, and caring Gym Teacher to lead movement activities that help children develop coordination, balance, strength, confidence, and teamwork.

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–1:00 PM (30 hours per week).

This position requires someone who can follow lesson plans and use Teaching Strategies’ The Creative Curriculum®, adapting activities to each group’s age, abilities, and developmental needs.

What You’ll Do

• Follow provided lesson plans and classroom schedules consistently.
• Use Teaching Strategies’ The Creative Curriculum® to support purposeful movement and learning.
• Prepare equipment and materials before each class.
• Lead age-appropriate obstacle courses, movement games, dancing, stretching, throwing, catching, and balance exercises.
• Teach children to follow directions, take turns, cooperate, and use equipment safely.
• Adapt activities so children with different abilities can participate.
• Maintain active supervision and accurate child counts during activities and transitions.
• Use patient, positive guidance to manage groups and encourage participation.
• Coordinate with classroom teachers to connect gym activities with learning objectives.
• Share observations of children’s progress to support classroom documentation and assessments.
• Clean, sanitize, and organize the gym and equipment after use.
• Follow center policies, safety procedures, and childcare licensing requirements.

Who We’re Looking For

• Someone who enjoys being active and working with young children.
• A dependable teacher who arrives prepared and follows lesson plans.
• Strong group-management skills and a calm, encouraging approach.
• Willingness to learn and consistently use Teaching Strategies’ The Creative Curriculum®.
• Experience with childcare, physical education, coaching, or children’s recreation preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to complete required background checks and childcare training.
• CPR and First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain.
