Preschool Assistant Teacher

Pryme Tyme for Little Friends is currently seeking teacher-qualified individuals who love being around children and who have a passion for early childhood education. Someone who has a positive attitude, is a team player, dependable, and demonstrates patience is an ideal candidate.

Experience/Qualifications:

• High school or equivalent
• Experience working with children in a child-care/school facility
• Good verbal and written communication skills

Pre-K/preschool teacher assistants should be able to facilitate the lead teacher of the classroom with the following duties and responsibilities:

• Establish and enforce rules of behavior for children in their classrooms
• Provide basic needs for children
• Provide tools and resources for children to use and explore during learning and play activities
• Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the interests and learning styles of children
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with children and parents
• Manage classroom activities including lessons, play, breaks and meals
• Track children's’ progress and report to parents
• Work with teaching teams to maintain a clean and tidy classroom and school environment
• Help children reach developmental milestones
• Collaborate with others to implement lesson plans
• Encourage children to interact with each other to develop social skills
• Supervise and ensure safety of children at all times.
• Facilitate various activities for children including songs, games and storytelling
• Adhere to health/safety and sanitation procedures
• Maintain punctual and consistent attendance.
• Keep Program Director informed of any special needs or concerns about individual children.
• Attend all staff meetings, in-service training, set up/clean up days and team meetings.
• Fill out all required paperwork in a timely manner. This includes, but is not limited to accident reports, incident reports, and curriculum plans.

• Ability to lift and carry at least 30lbs
• Physical ability to sit on the floor or low chair and to squat down to be at eye level with children for up to 15 minutes at a time
• Ability to stand and walk for up to one hour at a time
• Level of physical activity that allows for keeping pace with the activity level of young children.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
