Pre-Kindergarten Lead Teacher

Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Pre-Kindergarten Lead Teacher to join our team. There are two half day sessions each day. The job requires you to have a minimum of a bachelor's degree in early childhood education or its equivalent. A NYS teaching certificate in early childhood education is preferred.

Responsibilities

Be able to follow the Creative Curriculum program and related curriculum guidelines

Work with 2 teacher assistants in the classroom setting with 18 children in each session.

• Foster strong communication with parents and guardians through regular updates on children’s progress and classroom activities.
• Incorporate child development principles to support individual learning styles and developmental needs, including special education and early intervention strategies.
• Manage classroom routines efficiently while maintaining high standards of health and safety; ensure compliance with mandated reporting laws.
• Use assessment tools and standardized testing methods to monitor progress and tailor instruction accordingly.
• Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, classroom management techniques, and best practices in preschool teaching.

Requirements

• Proven experience working with young children in a preschool or childcare setting; prior classroom experience is essential.
• Knowledge of childhood development instruction, behavior management techniques, and early intervention strategies.
• Strong understanding of curriculum development, literacy education, math instruction, and physical education for preschoolers.
• familiarity with mandated reporting laws is required.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with children, parents, staff, and community partners.
• Ability to plan engaging lessons that incorporate play-based learning while meeting educational standards.
• Experience working with children who have special needs or require additional support is preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to manage classroom behavior positively while fostering an inclusive environment focused on child welfare.

Pay: $42,000.00 - $44,000.00 per year
