Duties

• Develop and implement dynamic, age-appropriate curriculum plans that promote literacy, math, physical education, and social-emotional growth in line with early childhood education standards.
• Create a safe, inclusive classroom environment that encourages curiosity, independence, and positive behavior management.
• Use classroom management techniques to maintain discipline and foster respectful interactions among students.
• Engage in ongoing child development instruction to tailor activities that support individual learning styles and developmental stages.
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about student progress, behavior, and classroom activities to build strong partnerships.
• Incorporate Montessori methods or other educational philosophies to enhance learning experiences when applicable.
• Conduct assessments using standardized testing tools to monitor developmental milestones and inform instruction.
• Ensure compliance with mandated reporting laws related to child welfare and safety protocols.
• Maintain detailed lesson plans, attendance records, and progress reports for each student.
• Support children with special education needs or those requiring early intervention services by collaborating with specialists.

Requirements

• Proven experience working with children in preschool or daycare settings, demonstrating strong classroom experience.
• Knowledge of child development principles, childhood education best practices, and behavior management strategies.
• Familiarity with curriculum development, lesson planning, and literacy education techniques.
• Experience teaching physical education, math, or implementing Montessori methods is a plus.
• Ability to communicate effectively with children, parents, colleagues, and administrators using excellent communication skills.
• Certification in first aid and CPR is required; ongoing training is preferred.
• Understanding of mandated reporting laws related to child abuse or neglect is essential.
• Experience working with children who have special needs or require early intervention services is highly valued.
• Strong organizational skills to manage classroom activities efficiently while ensuring a nurturing environment.
• Passion for early childhood education and commitment to fostering a positive learning atmosphere that promotes childhood development and welfare.

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
