Pre-K Lead Teacher

Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Pre-K Lead Teacher for a short-term assignment to inspire young learners and foster a nurturing classroom environment. This energetic educator will play a vital role in delivering engaging early childhood education, implementing curriculum plans, and supporting the developmental needs of diverse preschool students. Responsibilities

• Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards that promote early childhood development in literacy, math, social-emotional skills, and motor skills.
• Create an engaging classroom environment that encourages exploration, creativity, and social interaction among preschool children.
• Manage classroom behavior effectively through positive behavior management strategies, ensuring a safe and respectful learning space.
• Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices, coordinate activities, and enhance instructional approaches tailored to diverse student needs.
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about student progress, classroom activities, and upcoming events to foster strong home-school connections.
• Utilize educational technologies and computers to enhance instruction and support digital literacy from an early age.
• Follow mandated reporting laws and school policies diligently to ensure compliance with all safety and confidentiality standards.

Requirements

• Proven experience working with young children in early childhood education settings, including preschool environments.
• Strong knowledge of childhood development principles, curriculum development, lesson planning, and curriculum implementation.
• Demonstrated classroom management skills coupled with effective behavior management techniques.
• Experience working with children from diverse cultural backgrounds and those with special needs such as autism or requiring individualized support.
• Excellent communication skills for engaging with students, parents, colleagues, and community members.
• Familiarity with early childhood education standards, mandated reporting laws, school policies, and instructional best practices.
• Proficiency in using computers and educational technologies to support teaching activities.
• Ability to adapt instruction based on student needs and classroom dynamics quickly and effectively.
• Prior private school or preschool experience is preferred but not required; enthusiasm for early childhood education is essential.
