Teacher's Assistant

The hours are from 9:15-12:45. This is a Monday/Wednesday/Friday weekly position. The school year runs September through May.

Responsibilities: Working under the supervision of the Director of Lakewood Preschool and taking direction from the classroom teacher, will assist in classroom and school activities.

Duties: To perform classroom and school related activities as directed by the classroom teacher which will include but are not limited to the following:

1. To help children put on and take off coats, boots, gloves.

2. To help prepare at snack time.

3. To take and supervise children as they use the restroom.

4. To help supervise children during free play, gym, and other assigned activities.

5. To have necessary materials ready for daily art projects.

6. To clean and return all used materials to their proper storage place.

7. To clean floor and tables after snack and at the end of each day.

8. To familiarize themselves with the teachers lesson plans and daily schedule.

9. To check the children’s tote bags each day for notes from parents, book orders, tuition payments, etc. from home and also to put notes, book orders, art projects, etc. in totes to go home.

10. To perform other related duties deemed necessary and assigned by the Lakewood Preschool Director.

11. Complete Criminal Record Check, Child Abuse Clearance, and FBI Fingerprint Clearance.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $13.00 - $14.00 per hour
