Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook nutritious meals and snacks tailored to children's dietary needs and preferences, following approved menus and recipes.
• Plan weekly menus that incorporate variety, balance, and appealing flavors suitable for children’s tastes.
• Ensure all food handling and preparation adhere strictly to food safety standards, including sanitizing procedures and proper storage practices.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, grills, poaching tools, braising pots, and other culinary appliances.
• Maintain high-volume food production while ensuring quality, presentation, and timely service during evening hours.
• Follow dietary department guidelines to accommodate special diets or allergies, ensuring all meals meet health regulations.
• Keep the kitchen clean and organized by regularly sanitizing work surfaces, utensils, and equipment in compliance with food safety protocols.

Requirements

• Proven experience in dietary aide roles or food service positions within childcare, healthcare, or similar settings.
• Strong menu planning skills with knowledge of child nutrition standards.
• Culinary experience in fine dining or high-volume restaurant environments preferred; familiarity with food industry best practices is essential.
• Proficiency in food preparation techniques such as braising, grilling, poaching, and general cooking methods.
• Ability to operate commercial kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
• Knowledge of food safety management systems and sanitizing procedures to prevent contamination.
• Excellent knife skills and experience with recipe adherence to ensure consistent meal quality.
• Prior catering or large-scale meal production experience is a plus; must demonstrate strong food handling skills and attention to detail.

Pay: $12.00 - $14.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15.0 – 20.0 per week
