Lead Toddler Teacher

Job Title: Lead Toddler Teacher (Ages 2½–3 Years)

Position Summary:
Zion Christian Early Learning Center is seeking a nurturing, experienced, and enthusiastic lead toddler teacher to guide and manage a classroom of children ages 2½–3 years old. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of early childhood development, and the ability to create a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment that fosters social-emotional growth, language development, and independence within a faith-based setting.

Key Responsibilities

Classroom Leadership & Instruction

● Serve as the primary teacher and leader of the toddler classroom.

● Develop and implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum aligned with early learning standards.

● Establish and maintain consistent daily routines and classroom management systems.

● Create a warm, safe, and inclusive classroom environment that promotes exploration and discovery.

● Use positive guidance strategies to support behavior and self-regulation.

● Supervise and mentor assistant teachers and classroom support staff.

Child Development & Assessment

● Observe, document, and assess children’s developmental progress.

● Maintain accurate records and portfolios.

● Adapt lesson plans to meet individual developmental needs.

● Prepare for and lead parent-teacher conferences.

Health, Safety & Compliance

● Ensure the safety and well-being of all children at all times.

● Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free classroom.

● Follow all state licensing regulations and center policies.

● Assist with toileting, meals, handwashing, and daily care routines as needed.

Family Communication

● Build strong, respectful partnerships with families.

● Provide consistent communication regarding classroom activities and individual progress.

● Address parent questions or concerns professionally and promptly.

Professional Responsibilities

● Collaborate with administration and teaching staff.

● Attend staff meetings and professional development trainings.

● Model professionalism, teamwork, and a positive attitude.

● Support and uphold the center's Christian values and mission of the center.

Qualifications

● Minimum of a CPL 3 (Career Pathways Level 3) or higher required.

● Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred.

● Minimum of 1 year of experience working with toddlers in a licensed childcare setting.

● Previous lead teacher experience preferred.

● CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).

● Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and actively engage with children throughout the day.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.13 - $17.77 per hour
