Responsibilities

• Lead daily classroom activities, ensuring a stimulating and nurturing environment tailored to toddler development needs
• Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum plans that incorporate literacy education, math concepts, physical activity, and social-emotional learning
• Manage classroom behavior through positive reinforcement strategies and effective behavior management techniques
• Communicate regularly with parents about their child's progress, milestones, and any concerns to foster strong home-school connections
• Oversee classroom management duties, including maintaining safety protocols, organizing materials, and ensuring compliance with mandated reporting laws
• Collaborate with colleagues on lesson planning, assessment strategies, and integrating special education or early intervention practices when needed
• Provide guidance and mentorship to assistant teachers or student interns to promote professional growth within the team

Experience

• Prior teaching experience with young children in preschool or toddler care settings is essential
• Demonstrated knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education best practices
• Experience developing curriculum that includes literacy education, math skills, physical education, and social-emotional learning
• Familiarity with classroom management techniques and behavior management strategies suitable for toddlers
• Knowledge of mandated reporting laws related to child welfare and safety regulations
• Strong communication skills for effective parent engagement and team collaboration
• Certification in first aid and CPR is required; additional credentials in special education or early intervention are a plus
