Responsibilities

• Lead daily classroom activities focused on toddler development, including play-based learning, literacy education, and early intervention strategies.
• Develop and implement comprehensive curriculum plans tailored to individual child needs, incorporating childhood development principles and best practices in preschool teaching.
• Manage classroom behavior through positive behavior management techniques, ensuring a safe, respectful environment conducive to learning.
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about children’s progress, milestones, and any concerns, fostering strong partnerships for child welfare.
• Oversee classroom management duties such as lesson planning, organizing educational materials, and maintaining a clean, organized learning space.
• Ensure compliance with mandated reporting laws and health & safety protocols by maintaining accurate records and administering first aid or CPR when necessary.
• Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development initiatives that incorporate literacy education, math skills, physical education activities, and inclusive practices such as special education and early intervention.

Requirements

• Proven experience working with young children in classroom or daycare settings, especially with toddlers.
• Strong knowledge of child development instruction, childhood development milestones, and early childhood education best practices.
• Demonstrated ability to develop engaging curricula that promote literacy skills, math understanding, physical activity, and social-emotional growth.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents, colleagues, and community partners.
• Certification in first aid and CPR; familiarity with mandated reporting laws is preferred.
• Experience managing classroom behavior through positive reinforcement techniques and classroom management strategies.
• Background in preschool teaching or daycare experience is highly desirable; experience working with children requiring special education or early intervention services is a plus.
• Ability to maintain a nurturing environment that prioritizes child welfare while adhering to health standards and safety regulations.
