
Under the direction of the Site Supervisor, this position if responsible for the general supervision and management of a class of up to 24 with children ages 6 weeks through 5 years. The position requires the planning and execution of the educational program in accordance with the purpose and goals of Hansel & Gretel, Inc.
Sample Responsibilities and Duties:

1. Monitoring and ensuring wellbeing, security, safety, health and housekeeping standards (i.e., meal preparation; signs of illness; emergency situations, etc.) including making appropriate referrals.
2. Plan both long and short-range activities in accordance with curriculum objectives, developmentally appropriate practice, and program philosophy.
3. Meet the emotional, social, physical, and cognitive needs of each child.
4. Encourage assistants to contribute to curriculum planning.
5. Coordinate field trips.
6. Prepare weekly activity (lesson) plans charts.
7. Maintain and complete bi-annual assessment of children's development.
8. Work with parents to promote understanding of their child’s growth and development. Report progress of children to parents in bi-annual reports and through parent-teacher conferences.
9. Encourage parent participation in school programs.
10. Maintain daily open communication with parents
11. Keep accident reports
12. Maintain anecdotal records
13. Maintain confidentiality
14. Report any suspect abuse to supervisor.
15. Arrange a classroom environment in accordance to program goals and philosophy.
16. Maintain a safe and healthy environment and supervise all activities.
17. Inspect, maintain, and replace damaged or lost materials.
18. Effectively train, supervise, and utilize classroom assistants and floaters.
19. Attend in-service and staff meetings.
20. Keep all appropriate records such as records, attendance, and time sheets.
21. Meet all applicable licensing regulations.

Minimum Requirements:
AA (or 60 units) with 24 ECE/CD units including core courses (child/human Growth & Development, Child/Family/Community or Child and Family Relations, and program/Curriculum) plus 2 year teaching experience.
Teacher, Master, Site Supervisor or Program Director Teacher Permit from Local Credentialing office.
Infant/Toddler Teachers must complete a minimum of 3 units in infant/toddler care and curriculum.
Pay: $25.50 - $27.25 per hour
