Job Summary

Angel Watch Academy is seeking an experienced, dependable, and nurturing Lead Toddler Teacher to take full responsibility for our Blowfish classroom, serving children ages 2–3.

We are looking for a confident early childhood educator who can independently lead classroom activities, maintain a safe and structured learning environment, build positive relationships with families, and support children's developmental growth.

The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, reliable, and capable of managing daily classroom responsibilities with minimal supervision while working collaboratively with academy leadership.

Key Responsibilities

• Independently manage daily classroom routines, activities, and learning experiences.
• Develop and implement engaging, developmentally appropriate lesson plans.
• Support early literacy, language development, counting, fine motor skills, creativity, and social-emotional learning through play.
• Maintain active supervision and required child-to-caregiver ratios at all times.
• Use positive guidance strategies to address biting, tantrums, sharing difficulties, and other common toddler behaviors.
• Supervise toilet learning, diapering when applicable, handwashing, meals, rest periods, and transitions.
• Use Brightwheel to document attendance, daily activities, incidents, and family communications.
• Maintain accurate classroom records and follow reporting procedures.
• Communicate professionally with parents about their children's progress, needs, and development.
• Maintain a clean, organized, welcoming, and safe classroom.
• Follow Angel Watch Academy policies and applicable Texas childcare licensing requirements.
• Coordinate with other teachers and academy leadership to ensure smooth daily operations.

Required Qualifications

• Meet applicable Texas licensed childcare caregiver qualifications and training requirements.
• Previous hands-on experience caring for toddlers in a group childcare setting.
• Demonstrated ability to manage classroom routines, supervise children safely, and use positive behavior guidance.
• Strong communication, organization, and time-management skills.
• Dependable attendance and punctuality.
• Ability to complete all required background checks and employment verification.

Preferred Qualifications

• Two or more years of experience in a licensed childcare center.
• Previous experience as a Lead Teacher or primary classroom teacher.
• Child Development Associate (CDA) credential, associate degree, or relevant early childhood education coursework.
• Current pediatric CPR and first-aid certification.
• Experience with Brightwheel or similar childcare management software.
• Experience implementing structured, play-based toddler curriculum.

Compensation and Schedule

• Pay: $18.00–$21.00 per hour, based on qualifications and experience.
• Employment: Full-time.
• Expected hours: 40 per week.
• Work location: In person.
