Who We Are:

The purpose of The Academy for Little Children is to provide high quality responsive care and a learning environment for children between the ages of 6 weeks and 10 years old. We offer an educational program based upon developmentally appropriate practices in order to help the children develop a strong foundation and gain a positive attitude toward learning. We focus on the children’s cognitive, socioemotional and physical growth in order to promote an integrated and effective approach to learning. We maintain a warm, loving environment to instill in the children that this is a place where they can trust, be happy and feel secure.

What You Will Do:

As a teacher at The Academy for Little Children, you will join a family of educators dedicated to helping each child succeed. Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

• Monthly and daily lesson planning
• Assessment of students
• Daily communication with families
• Maintaining a clean, safe, and organized classroom
• Maintaining compliance with DCYF, DHS, and BrightStars standards
• Following center policies
• Working with coworkers as an active team member

What You Will Bring:

With that in mind, we do have the following requirements and preferences for applicants:

• Minimum of 12 Early Childhood Education college-level credits (preferred)
• Associates degree or higher in Early Childhood Education or closely-related field (preferred)
• Minimum of 1 year experience working with children
• Must have taken, or be willing to take, RIELDS Foundations, Curriculum courses, and CPR
• Must complete 20 hours of professional development per year upon hire
• Must possess excellent work attendance

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 40.0 per week
