QUALIFYING CREDENTIALS: For Preschool Head Teachers

PRESCHOOL TEACHER : NYS Certified Early Childhood/Elementary School Teacher (Birth- 2 or Pre - K, Kindergarten, and Grades 1-6)Master’s Degree/Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education/Elementary Education. If you have an MA/MS and a BA/BS,1 of them has to be in Early Childhood Education. Two or more years of professional experience in a child care center/preschool/Pre-K-2 in an elementary school are necessary . All prospective employees must have a current Mandated Reporter Certificate (taken within the past 2 years), been previously fingerprinted by the DOI , Updated Medical ( within the past 2 years) , SCR Clearance, and anInfectious Disease Certificate recognized in NYS and NYC.

NOTICEABLE ASSETS: Certified in CPR/First Aid

* AND*

QUALIFYING CREDENTIALS: For Educational Director in General and who is also acting as a Head Teacher:

The education director shall have: A) A baccalaureate degree in early childhood education or related field of study and State Education Department teacher certification in early childhood education or elementary education.

• B) At least two years of experience as a group teacher in a program for children under six years of age.
