Lead Teacher

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Lead Teacher to join our daycare team. The Lead Teacher will play a vital role in creating a nurturing, safe, and engaging environment for young children. This position involves guiding classroom activities, supporting the development of children, and collaborating with staff to ensure a high-quality educational experience. The ideal candidate will have a passion for early childhood education and demonstrate strong leadership skills.

Duties

• Plan and implement age-appropriate curriculum and activities that promote social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.
• Supervise and support assistant teachers and classroom staff to ensure smooth daily operations.
• Foster a positive, inclusive, and safe environment where children feel valued and encouraged to explore.
• Monitor and assess each child's progress, maintaining detailed records of developmental milestones.
• Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding children's progress, behavior, and any concerns.
• Ensure compliance with all licensing regulations, safety standards, and organizational policies.
• Lead by example in maintaining cleanliness, organization, and safety within the classroom.
• Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in early childhood education.

Requirements

• Prior experience working in a daycare or early childhood education setting.
• Strong understanding of child development principles and age-specific needs.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with children, parents, and team members.
• Leadership qualities with the ability to supervise and motivate staff members.
• Ability to create a warm, welcoming environment that fosters learning through play.
• Certification in early childhood education or related field preferred; relevant training or coursework is a plus.
• Commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy environment for children at all times.

Pay: $20.00 - $21.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30.0 – 40.0 per week
