Lead Teacher (3 year old class)

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and nurturing Lead Teacher to oversee our 3-year-old classroom. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating a safe, engaging, and educational environment that fosters early childhood development. Using the provided Abeka curriculum, the Lead Teacher will plan and implement age-appropriate lessons, monitor student progress, and collaborate with staff to ensure a positive learning experience for every child.

Duties

• Develop and execute daily lesson plans aligned with the Abeka curriculum to promote cognitive, social, and emotional growth in 3-year-old children.
• Create a nurturing classroom environment that encourages curiosity, independence, and respect among students.
• Supervise and guide assistant teachers and classroom aides to ensure effective classroom management and instructional support.
• Observe and assess each child's developmental progress, maintaining detailed records to inform future instruction.
• Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding their child's progress, behaviors, and developmental milestones.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized classroom environment adhering to all safety regulations and licensing requirements.
• Foster positive behavior through age-appropriate discipline strategies and social-emotional learning activities.
• Participate in staff meetings, ongoing professional development, and curriculum planning sessions to enhance teaching effectiveness.

Requirements

• Prior experience working with preschool-aged children, preferably in a lead teacher role.
• Knowledge of early childhood development principles and best practices in preschool education.
• Familiarity with the Abeka curriculum or similar early childhood educational programs is preferred.
• Strong communication skills to effectively engage with children, parents, and team members.
• Ability to create engaging lesson plans that meet developmental needs of 3-year-olds.
• Patience, creativity, and a genuine passion for working with young children.
• Must hold relevant early childhood education credentials or certifications as required by licensing standards.

Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
