Lead Pre K Teacher-One year experience required

We are seeking a passionate and energetic Lead Pre K Teacher to join our early childhood education team. In this vital role, you will lead the development and implementation of engaging, age-appropriate activities that foster growth, curiosity, and a love for learning among children 4 and 5 years old. You will serve as a role model for other staff members, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment where every child feels valued and supported. Your expertise in child development instruction and classroom management will help lay the foundation for lifelong learning and and preparation for Kindergarten. We are paid weekly (Every Friday) and we are paid for holidays! This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in young children’s lives while working within a collaborative team dedicated to excellence in childcare.

Lead Pre K Teacher Skills

• Proven experience working with preschoolers in daycare or settings, including classroom experience and daycare center experience for a minimum of 1 year is required
• Strong knowledge of childhood development principles, classroom management and positive guidance
• Expertise in child supervision, preschool and pre kindergarten preparation, and excellent communication skills for parent engagement in person and on our childcare app
• Ability to manage classroom dynamics effectively while maintaining a nurturing and stimulating environment
• Familiarity with early childhood education and licensing standards, classroom management tools, and Virginia Quality Birth to Five

Lead Pre K Teacher Key Responsibilities:

• Curriculum and Instruction: Implement age-appropriate lesson plans and activities using our monthly calendar to engage and support each child’s growth
• Classroom Management: Create and maintain a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment
• Family Communication: Maintain open, effective and positive communication with families and guardians about their child’s progress and daily activities
• Health and Safety: Supervise children during indoor and outdoor activities to uphold health and safety standards, licensing regulations and ensure their well-being
• Professional Development: Participate actively in ongoing professional development and training opportunities to enhance teaching skills
• Assessment and Documentation: Observe, assess and document children’s learning and development to inform activities and share insights with families
• Team Collaboration: Support Co-Teachers fostering a collaborative and positive team environment.
• Behavior Guidance: Model and implement positive guidance strategies to support social-emotional growth and conflict resolution.
