Experienced Infant Lead Teacher | BITS Preparatory Academy

Fort Pierce, FL

BITS Preparatory Academy

BITS Preparatory Academy is seeking a loving, experienced, dependable, and highly organized Infant Lead Teacher to join our early childhood education team!

We are looking for an educator who understands that infant care goes far beyond feeding, diapering, and supervision. Our ideal candidate is passionate about early childhood development, responsive caregiving, and creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment where our youngest learners can thrive.

We need a confident, proactive professional who takes ownership of their classroom, demonstrates initiative, and consistently meets expectations without constant reminders.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of experience working with infants in a licensed childcare setting.
  • Strong understanding of infant growth, developmental milestones, and age-appropriate learning experiences.
  • Familiarity with CLASS (Classroom Assessment Scoring System) and responsive teacher-child interactions.
  • Exceptional classroom management, organization, and time-management skills.
  • Knowledge of safe sleep practices, sanitation, diapering, feeding, and infant safety protocols.
  • Ability to maintain individualized infant schedules while managing the needs of multiple children.
  • Familiarity with Florida DCF childcare regulations.
  • Infant/Toddler CDA or equivalent early childhood credentials preferred.
  • Current CPR/First Aid certification preferred.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide warm, attentive, and responsive care to infants.
  • Create a safe, clean, organized, and developmentally appropriate classroom environment.
  • Implement engaging sensory, motor, language, and social-emotional learning experiences.
  • Maintain individualized feeding, diapering, sleeping, and developmental records accurately and consistently.
  • Follow safe sleep, sanitation, hygiene, and active supervision procedures at all times.
  • Recognize and respond appropriately to infants' individual cues, needs, and developmental differences.
  • Maintain positive, professional communication with families through Brightwheel.
  • Complete daily documentation, classroom responsibilities, and assigned tasks without repeated reminders.
  • Demonstrate strong teamwork, accountability, and initiative.
  • Maintain compliance with school policies, licensing standards, and health and safety requirements.

Our Ideal Candidate

You are patient, nurturing, attentive, and genuinely passionate about infant development.

You understand that every interaction is an opportunity for learning, from tummy time and sensory play to feeding, comforting, and early communication.

You take pride in maintaining a classroom that is clean, organized, safe, and prepared throughout the day—not just at closing.

You are dependable, detail-oriented, receptive to feedback, and capable of independently managing classroom responsibilities while providing exceptional care.

Most importantly, you understand that caring for infants requires constant awareness, sound judgment, compassion, and accountability.

Join Our Team!

At BITS Preparatory Academy, we believe the earliest years lay the foundation for lifelong learning. We are looking for educators who share that belief and are committed to providing high-quality care and meaningful early learning experiences.
