JOB OVERVIEW

Kids R Kind Learning Center is hiring a caring, dependable, energetic Preschool Assistant Teacher to join our team in Akron/Coventry Township, Ohio.

We are looking for someone who enjoys working with young children, brings patience and professionalism to the classroom, and wants to help preschoolers learn, grow, and succeed.

As a Preschool Assistant Teacher, you will work alongside the classroom teacher to support engaging learning experiences, positive daily routines, and attentive supervision. Your encouragement, consistency, and care will help children feel secure as they develop new skills and become more independent.

CURRENT OPENING AND SHIFT

Preschool Assistant Teacher: 9:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.

UNDERSTANDING THE LISTED SHIFT

The 9:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. schedule includes a 90-minute lunch break.

Although the posted start and end times span 9½ hours, the schedule includes eight hours of working time plus the 90-minute lunch break. The break is already included within the posted shift.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Assist the classroom teacher with developmentally appropriate preschool learning experiences.
• Support activities in early literacy, mathematics, science, language, creative arts, movement, and social-emotional development.
• Help prepare classroom materials and organize learning centers.
• Provide active supervision during classroom activities, transitions, meals, rest periods, and play.
• Help children develop independence with daily routines and self-help skills.
• Use positive guidance, consistent expectations, encouragement, and patience.
• Build warm, respectful relationships with children and respond to their individual needs.
• Assist with observations, classroom records, and documentation as assigned.
• Maintain a clean, safe, organized, welcoming classroom.
• Communicate professionally with families, coworkers, and center leadership.
• Follow applicable Ohio childcare licensing requirements, company policies, curriculum expectations, and health and safety practices.
• Participate in training and contribute to a dependable, cooperative team.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

• A high school diploma or equivalent.
• A strong commitment to children’s safety, care, learning, and development.
• Dependability, punctuality, professionalism, and sound judgment.
• Patience, a positive attitude, and the ability to respond calmly to children’s needs.
• Strong communication skills and a willingness to work collaboratively with the classroom teacher.
• Relevant experience working with young children or supporting a classroom.
• Willingness to complete required background checks, pre-employment documentation, training, and certifications.
• CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain it when required.
• Ability to perform the essential functions of the position, with reasonable accommodation when applicable.

PAY, SCHEDULE AND BENEFITS

Work location: In person at Kids R Kind Learning Center in Akron/Coventry Township.

Shift: 9:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., including a 90-minute lunch break. Final workdays will be discussed during the hiring process.

Pay: Compensation is based on qualifications and relevant experience. Specific pay details will be discussed during the hiring process.
