Assistant Teacher Position with Room to Grow at LVDP!

Le Village is a community focused coworking space with onsite, teacher-led childcare. We are currently seeking an assistant teacher for our Wigglers (~3-15 month) classroom. The Position: We’re looking for an assistant teacher to add to our small team. This is an hourly position earning $16-20/hour based on education and experience. Full time options may also be available and include additional benefits. Each class is led by 1 lead teacher who will have 1-2 classroom assistants depending on enrollment. We are seeking hands-on, motivated assistant teachers who truly love spending time with early learners.

Requirements:

• A love for working with young children and building relationships with their parents
• For this particular position, a minimum of 1 year of infant experience is preferred.
• Current CPR + First-Aid Certification or willingness to become certified.
• Record of up-to-date immunizations and ability to pass a background check.
• Excellent attitude and proactive approach to work.
• Reliability - we maintain very low teacher to student ratios and showing up to your scheduled shift is imperative to maintaining them!

Responsibilities:

• Assist lead teachers in leading pre-planned activities and supervise (engage with!) children during Open Play times.
• Respond to children’s daily needs with flexibility, patience, and a nurturing attitude.
• Change diapers for younger children, assist with snacks and lunch as needed, and supervise naptime.
• Help prepare the classroom and materials for the upcoming day’s activities.
• Complete daily cleaning checklists to maintain sanitization and the health of all.

The Location: Le Village - Des Plaines is located just south of downtown Des Plaines, IL. We are a 10 minute walk to the Des Plaines metra stop!
