Point Loma Community Church Preschool & Infant Center uses techniques of emergent curriculum and play based learning to promote social and emotional development as well as allowing the children to guide their learning to promote a lifelong love of education. We are a Christian preschool connected to Point Loma Community Presbyterian Church and seek a professional who has a strong Christian faith and is able to incorporate it in daily school activities.

• Monday through Friday from 8:30-5:00
• Must have a minimum 12 ECE units to be a qualified teacher.
• Must have an infant/toddler class
• Experience working with children is preferred.

• Work with infants 18 months- 30 months of age
• We have at least 2teachers in each classroom

RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities of the Toddler teacher will include, but will not be limited to the following:

• Planning and implementing the daily program with your co-teacher
• Assist in planning and preparing the learning environment, setting up interest centers, and preparing needed materials and supplies.
• Assist in supervising the playground and other outdoor activities.
• Assist with the general housekeeping tasks by straightening the room at transition times and cleaning up after class.
• Preparing and serving snacks, bottles, and meals
• Helping with toileting and diaper changing.
• Helping set up cots for nap & cribs as needed.
• Assist the teacher in any other appropriate ways, keeping adult conversation to a minimum, providing a model in usage of appropriate words and behavior with the children. Serve as a positive liaison with parents
• Maintain a professional attitude at all times
• Being able to multitask is a must.
• Treat all children with dignity and respect
• Attend all staff meetings and training programs and workshops/conferences
• Carry out appropriate and positive guidance techniques as established by the school
• Being familiar with and handling emergency procedures
• Modeling appropriate social skills and nutrition habits for the children.
• Communicating the philosophy of the program to others.
• Perform other assigned duties as directed by the lead teacher or Director.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour
