CDA Childcare Educator

Incredible Kids Daycare Center located in the Wakefield Section of Bronx, NY 10466 is seeking a caring, dependable, and experienced educator with a current Child Development Associate (CDA) credential to join our team.

Our small, home-based program provides children with a nurturing environment where they can learn, play, and grow. We are looking for someone who takes initiative, follows established routines, and works well independently, with children, families, and coworkers.

Job Summary

Duties

• Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans that promote literacy, math, art, music and movement skills, physical activity, and social-emotional development in young children.
• Create a nurturing classroom environment that supports toddler care, pre-school activities, and early intervention strategies.
• Manage classroom behavior through effective behavior management techniques and classroom management practices.
• Assist with preparing meals, diapering, toileting, rest time, and daily transitions.
• Communicate regularly and professionally with parents and coworkers to share progress updates, discuss concerns, and foster collaborative relationships.
• Ensure compliance with mandated reporting laws by accurately documenting any incidents or concerns related to child welfare.
• Complete daily attendance records, observations, and other assigned documentation. Follow program policies and applicable childcare requirements.
• Conduct assessments of child development using standardized testing methods to monitor progress and tailor instruction accordingly.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment while adhering to health and safety regulations such as first aid and CPR certifications.

Skills / Qualifications

• Current CDA credential; please identify your credential setting and expiration date when applying.
• Availability to work the full-time Monday–Friday 8:00am to 5:15pm.
• Strong knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education best practices.
• Experience working with children across various age groups, including toddlers and preschoolers.
• Proficiency in curriculum development, lesson planning, and classroom management techniques.
• Strong attendance, punctuality and ability to communicate effectively with children, parents, colleagues, and community partners.
• Familiarity with special education needs, early intervention programs, and behavior management strategies.
• Skilled in implementing literacy education, math instruction, physical education activities, and tutoring sessions.
• Knowledge of mandated reporting laws related to child welfare and safety regulations.
• Experience working with pre-school or 3-K children, in-home Group Family Daycare settings or private schools is highly desirable.
• Certifications in first aid and CPR are required; additional training in childhood development or special education is a plus. Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
