Family Child Care Assistant

Job Overview

We are a licensed family child care program looking for a caring, dependable assistant to join our team for the afternoon shift. You will support a small group of toddlers and preschoolers during the part of the day that includes rest time, transitions, and dismissal. This is a great fit for someone who enjoys working with young children in a warm, home-based setting.

Responsibilities

• Closely supervise and engage with children during afternoon hours, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times
• Assist in cleaning, sanitizing and light organization to maintain a classroom environment that meets safety, learning and cleanliness standards
• Communicate effectively with lead staff and parents regarding the children's experiences, progress, and any concerns
• Support the afternoon transitions by helping children move from outdoors to indoors and from rest to dismissal in a safe, calm manner
• Follow the program's and EEC's health, safety and supervision practices at all times

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with children in daycare, preschool, or early childhood education settings
• Knowledge of childhood development principles and child supervision best practices
• Certification in first aid, CPR, and pediatric first aid preferred; willingness to obtain if not already certified

Requirements

• Willingness to be fingerprinted and undergo an EEC-verified background check
• Willingness to complete all required EEC trainings and paperwork
• Strong communication skills for parent interaction and team collaboration
• Ability to manage group flow with patience, attentiveness, and readiness
• Understanding of mandated reporting laws related to child safety and protection
• Minimum of 2-3 references

Pay: $18.00 - $24.00 per hour
