Child Care Lead & Assistant Teachers

O2BA Kid Child Care Center is seeking dependable, caring, energetic, and enthusiastic individuals to join our childcare team. We are looking for team members who enjoy working with young children and are committed to providing a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment.

We have full-time and part-time positions available for both Lead Teachers and Assistant Teachers.

Assistant Teacher

Previous childcare experience is not required for the Assistant Teacher position. We are willing to train individuals who are dependable, responsible, patient, and eager to learn.

Assistant Teachers will work alongside classroom teachers to provide quality care and support children's learning and development through age-appropriate activities, play, routines, and daily interactions.

Assistant Teacher Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age, as required for the position
• Must be dependable, responsible, and punctual
• Must enjoy working with young children
• Must be able to work effectively as part of a team
• Must be able to successfully complete the required criminal background check
• Must meet applicable Michigan childcare licensing requirements

Lead Teacher

We are seeking qualified Lead Teachers who are passionate about early childhood education and enjoy creating meaningful learning experiences for young children.

Lead Teacher Qualifications

Candidates should have one or more of the following:

• A Child Development Associate (CDA) credential
• Currently working toward a CDA
• Completed early childhood education coursework
• Relevant early childhood education or childcare experience

Candidates must meet applicable Michigan childcare licensing requirements for the Lead Teacher position.

Responsibilities

Depending on the position and classroom assignment, responsibilities may include:

• Providing a safe, nurturing, and positive environment for children
• Supervising children and maintaining appropriate classroom ratios
• Planning and participating in age-appropriate learning activities
• Supporting children's social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development
• Maintaining a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom
• Following center policies, procedures, and Michigan childcare licensing requirements
• Communicating professionally and respectfully with families and coworkers
• Assisting with daily routines such as meals, diapering/toileting, rest time, and transitions
• Maintaining appropriate documentation and classroom records
• Working cooperatively with other members of the teaching team

Work Schedule

O2BA Kid Child Care Center operates Monday through Friday, 6:30 AM–6:00 PM. Specific employee schedules will vary based on classroom and center needs.

We are committed to providing our staff with time away from work to enjoy their families, friends, and personal lives. Our center is closed on weekends, evenings, and designated holidays.

All employees must successfully complete the required criminal background check and meet all applicable State of Michigan childcare licensing requirements before working independently with children.

Immediate Positions Available

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20.0 – 40.0 per week
