At Tender Care Learning Center, we believe children thrive when they are nurtured, respected, and given meaningful opportunities to explore, play, learn, and build relationships.

We serve children ages 6 weeks to 12 years in a warm, family-centered environment focused on social-emotional development, meaningful play, and strong relationships between children and teachers.

We are looking for teachers who genuinely love working with children and understand that early childhood education is both incredibly rewarding and incredibly hard work.

About the Position

We are looking for a dependable, patient, energetic teacher to join our Toddler and/or Three-Year-Old classroom.

This is not a job where you simply supervise children. Our teachers are actively involved throughout the day—getting down on the floor, joining children's play, guiding behavior, supporting routines, cleaning, documenting learning, communicating with families, and working closely with their teaching team.

Childcare is rewarding—but it is also hard work. We need teachers who are ready to show up consistently, work as part of a team, accept feedback, and give children their best every day.

What You'll Do

• Build warm, responsive relationships with children
• Provide attentive, nurturing care throughout the day
• Actively engage with children through meaningful, developmentally appropriate play
• Plan and participate in activities that support social-emotional, physical, language, and cognitive development
• Support children as they learn to communicate, regulate emotions, solve problems, and interact with others
• Follow classroom routines while remaining responsive to children's individual needs
• Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting classroom
• Complete Brightwheel observations and other required documentation
• Communicate professionally and positively with families
• Work cooperatively with your teaching partner and the rest of the Tender Care team
• Follow Texas Minimum Standards, center policies, and classroom procedures
• Participate in daily routines including meals, diapering/toileting, rest time, cleaning, and outdoor play

The right person for Tender Care is someone who:

• Genuinely enjoys being around young children
• Is dependable and understands that consistent attendance matters to children and coworkers
• Is patient, calm, and emotionally mature
• Is energetic and willing to be actively involved throughout the day
• Is comfortable getting on the floor, getting messy, and doing the less glamorous parts of childcare
• Can work well with a teaching partner and contribute positively to a team
• Is willing to learn and accept coaching and feedback
• Takes responsibility for their classroom and their role
• Understands that children's needs come first
• Can maintain professionalism with coworkers, children, and families
• Wants to grow as an early childhood professional—not simply have a job

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Previous experience working with children strongly preferred
• CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain
• Ability to lift at least 30 pounds
• Ability to participate in active, floor-level play and remain physically engaged throughout the day
• Ability to meet all applicable state and center requirements

A Note About Our Approach

Our program is play-based, but not unstructured.

Teachers intentionally create opportunities for children to learn through play, relationships, exploration, conversation, movement, and hands-on experiences. We expect teachers to be actively engaged, purposeful, and observant—not simply supervising from across the room.
