Not every preschool is the same. And neither is every teaching job.
At The Goddard School of Skippack, we believe children deserve teachers who love coming to work each day. That starts by creating a workplace where teachers feel respected, supported, appreciated, and empowered to do what they do best: change lives.
We're looking for an Assistant Teacher who brings energy, kindness, curiosity, and a genuine love for young children. Experience is important, but attitude matters just as much.
You might be a great fit if...
- You naturally get down on the floor to play with children instead of watching from the sidelines.
- You celebrate milestones, no matter how small.
- You believe hugs, high-fives, and encouraging words can change a child's day.
- You enjoy working as part of a team.
- You like having fun at work.
- You understand that teaching young children is one of the most important jobs in the world.
What You'll Do
As an Assistant Teacher, you'll work alongside a Lead Teacher to help create a classroom where children feel safe, loved, challenged, and excited to learn.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting engaging, hands-on learning experiences
- Building positive relationships with children and families
- Encouraging children's social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development
- Helping maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom
- Assisting with daily routines and transitions
- Working collaboratively with your teaching team
- Helping create a classroom where every child feels like they belong
What It's Like to Work Here
We're proud of the culture we've built.
Our teachers aren't just employees. They're professionals who make an incredible difference every day. We believe in coaching rather than criticizing, teamwork instead of workplace drama, and giving teachers the support they need to succeed.
You'll find leaders who are approachable, coworkers who genuinely help one another, and families who trust us with what matters most.
Qualifications
- High school diploma required
- Experience working with young children in a licensed childcare or preschool setting preferred
- Reliable, dependable, and able to work well independently and as part of a team
- Positive attitude with excellent communication skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds in connection with the care of children
- Must successfully complete all required state background clearances and licensing requirements
Why The Goddard School of Skippack?
Children spend only a few short years in preschool.
Those years matter.
Every block tower built, every story read, every scraped knee comforted, every new friendship, and every "I did it!" moment helps shape the person a child is becoming.
If you're looking for just another childcare job, we may not be the right fit.
But if you're looking for a school where children are known, families are valued, and teachers are truly appreciated, we'd love to meet you.
Come help us build confident learners and have a lot of fun doing it.
The Goddard School in Skippack is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
