Daycare Teacher

About the Position

We are looking for a warm, dependable, and enthusiastic Lead Toddler Teacher to join our childcare team. The ideal candidate will have a genuine passion for working with toddlers and creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging classroom environment where young children can learn, explore, and grow.

As the Lead Toddler Teacher, you will be responsible for planning and implementing age-appropriate activities, maintaining a consistent daily routine, supporting children's social-emotional development, and partnering with families and fellow teachers to provide high-quality care.

Responsibilities

• Provide attentive, nurturing, and responsive care to toddlers.
• Plan and lead developmentally appropriate activities that encourage learning through play.
• Create and maintain a safe, clean, organized, and welcoming classroom.
• Support children's language, cognitive, physical, and social-emotional development.
• Establish and maintain consistent classroom routines and positive behavior expectations.
• Maintain accurate daily records, including meals, naps, diapering/toileting, and developmental observations.
• Communicate professionally and regularly with parents and guardians about their child's day and development.
• Work collaboratively with assistant teachers, administration, and other classroom staff.
• Follow all health, safety, licensing, and childcare center policies.
• Supervise children at all times and maintain appropriate staff-to-child ratios.
• Assist with diapering, toileting, feeding, nap routines, and other daily care needs.
• Participate in staff meetings, training, professional development, and classroom events.
• Serve as a positive role model for children and coworkers.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with toddlers or young children preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; early childhood education coursework or degree preferred.
• Strong understanding of toddler development and age-appropriate teaching practices.
• Patient, dependable, energetic, and compassionate personality.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to maintain a calm and positive classroom environment.
• Ability to meet all state childcare licensing requirements, including required background checks, health clearances, and training.
• Current CPR/First Aid certification preferred or willingness to obtain.

Pay: From $19.00 per hour
