Position: Daycare Teacher

Schedule/Hours: Monday - Friday 7:45 AM - 4:00 PM (with lunch break)

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 (based on experience)

Job Overview

We are seeking a caring, dependable, and engaging Child Care Provider to support the children of employees within our therapy center. This role is responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate environment for a small group of neurotypical children while their parents are working onsite. The provider will care for approximately 5–6 children between the ages of 1 and 5 years old. The ideal candidate is patient, organized, flexible, and passionate about working with young children of varying developmental levels and needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide attentive and compassionate care for approximately 5–6 children ages 1–5 in an onsite child care setting
• Create and maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming classroom environment
• Plan and lead age-appropriate activities including play, crafts, music, reading, and sensory activities
• Supervise children during indoor and outdoor play, meals, naps, and transitions
• Follow daily schedules and routines to ensure consistency and structure
• Monitor children’s behavior, emotional well-being, and developmental needs
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of toys, supplies, and child care areas
• Communicate professionally and positively with employee parents and facility staff
• Follow all facility policies, and health/safety procedures
• Respond appropriately to emergencies, accidents, or behavioral concerns
• Assist with basic child care needs such as diapering, toileting, and feeding as needed
• Support an inclusive and respectful environment for all children and families

Skills

• Extensive experience working with children in daycare or preschool settings, including classroom management and childcare practices
• Strong knowledge of early childhood development principles, including toddler care, literacy education, and preschool teaching strategies
• Ability to develop age-appropriate curriculum with a focus on childhood development and early intervention techniques
• Familiarity with special education needs, Montessori methods, or standardized testing is a plus
• Excellent communication skills for effective parent communication and team collaboration
• Proficiency in first aid and CPR certification to ensure safety during emergencies
• Experience with behavior management strategies and classroom management tools to foster a positive learning environment
• Knowledge of mandated reporting laws related to child welfare and safety regulations

Work Environment:

This position is located within a pediatric autism therapy center and involves active supervision of a small group of neurotypical children in a classroom/playroom environment. The Daycare Teacher will collaborate with staff and families to ensure a positive experience for both employees and their children.

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
