Job Summary

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum plans that foster early literacy, math skills, social-emotional growth, and physical activity.
• Create a safe, clean, and stimulating classroom environment that encourages curiosity and independence.
• Manage daily classroom activities, including lesson planning, circle time, play-based learning, and structured educational exercises.
• Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding each child's progress, behavior, and developmental milestones.
• Apply behavior management techniques to promote positive interactions and resolve conflicts effectively.
• Ensure compliance with all mandated reporting laws related to child safety and welfare.
• Collaborate with colleagues to coordinate classroom activities, special events, and developmental assessments such as standardized testing or early intervention programs.

Requirements

• Proven experience working with children in a daycare or preschool setting, with a strong understanding of childhood development principles.
• Knowledge of curriculum development tailored for early childhood education including Montessori or other specialized methods.
• Familiarity with special education needs, early intervention strategies, and behavior management techniques.
• Certification in first aid and CPR is required; ongoing training in child welfare is preferred.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with children, parents, and team members.
• Classroom management experience with a focus on creating an inclusive environment for toddlers through preschool-aged children.
• Ability to plan lessons that incorporate literacy education, math concepts, physical education activities, and social skills development.
• Knowledge of mandated reporting laws related to child safety and the ability to follow all childcare regulations diligently.
• EEC Certified
