Daycare Director

Job Summary

We are seeking an energetic and dedicated Daycare Director with VPK endorsement to lead our early childhood education center with passion and professionalism. In this vital role, you will oversee daily operations, ensure a safe and nurturing environment for children, and foster strong relationships with families and staff. Your leadership will inspire a team committed to providing exceptional care and early childhood development instruction, creating a positive impact on young learners’ lives. The ideal candidate will bring a blend of classroom management expertise, experience working with children of various ages, and a proactive approach to compliance with childcare regulations.

Duties

• Conduct VPK from 8:30 am to 11:30 am
• After VPK conduct all director duties
• Manage daily center operations, ensuring adherence to licensing standards, safety protocols, and quality care practices
• Lead and support a team of teachers and caregivers by providing guidance on child development instruction, classroom management, and behavior management strategies
• Develop and implement age-appropriate curricula that promote childhood development, early learning skills, and social-emotional growth
• Foster positive communication with parents by providing regular updates on their children’s progress, addressing concerns promptly, and maintaining open lines of dialogue
• Oversee child supervision to ensure safety at all times, including infant care, toddler care, preschool activities, and special needs accommodations
• Ensure staff are trained in first aid, CPR, pediatric first aid, mandated reporting laws, and other relevant health and safety procedures
• Maintain compliance with state licensing requirements and accreditation standards while continuously improving program quality

Qualifications

• Staff credential
• CDA Credential
• Directors Credential with VPK endorsement
• Proven experience working with children across various age groups in daycare or preschool settings; daycare center experience preferred
• Strong classroom experience with expertise in childhood development instruction and behavior management techniques
• Valid certification in first aid, CPR, pediatric first aid, and knowledge of mandated reporting laws
• Experience working with individuals with disabilities or special education needs is highly desirable
• Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage staff effectively while fostering teamwork and professional growth
• Excellent communication skills for parent engagement and staff collaboration
• Knowledge of early childhood education principles, classroom management strategies, and toddler/infant care best practices
• Ability to handle multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive attitude
