Daycare Center Director

About Us
We’re a family-owned group of three licensed early childhood centers in Baltimore. We’re looking for a Center Director to lead our Edmondson Ave. location, a 27-child center serving families with care and high standards. We hold Maryland EXCELS Level 4 and are working toward Level 5. We’re looking for someone who is organized, hands-on, and excited to build a strong team and a strong program.

What You’ll Do

• Lead day-to-day center operations, including staffing, scheduling, and classroom coverage
• Ensure compliance with OCC licensing requirements, including staff-to-child ratios and health and safety standards
• Support and coach lead and assistant teachers, including reviewing lesson plans submitted through Smart Teach
• Assist in overseeing the center’s food program and meal service, including CACFP or other program requirements
• Lead the center’s work toward Maryland EXCELS Level 5, including documentation and quality improvement
• Manage family communication through Procare, including enrollment, updates, and concerns
• Partner with the owner on hiring, onboarding, and staff development

What You’ll Need

• 60 semester hours of college coursework, or 30 semester hours of college coursework that includes no less than 20 semester hours in early childhood education
• 45 Hour Director Administrative certification
• 45 hour Infant and Toddler certification or equivalent
• 45 hour Pre-School certification or equivalent
• 45 hour School Age certification or equivalent
• Experience supervising staff in a licensed childcare setting
• Working knowledge of Maryland EXCELS and OCC regulations, including ratio requirements
• Comfort with technology: email, spreadsheets, and online systems for scheduling, communication, and compliance records. We use Procare and Smart Teach, so experience with similar platforms is a plus.
• Strong communication skills with staff, families, and licensing contacts
• Current CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain it)
• A calm, solution-focused approach and a commitment to children’s safety and development

Pay: $19.50 - $22.50 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
