Daycare Assistant Teacher

We are hiring a part-time caregiver or caregiver's assistant to work Monday–Friday from 2:00–6:00 PM. Opportunity to work extra hours for staff coverage is possible. This job can become full time in January.

Depending on the age group you are assigned to, responsibilities may include changing diapers and lifting children weighing up to 30 pounds.

Depending on the location you are chosen to work at, you might be responsible for assisting children ages 5–10 years old to complete their homework.

Position Summary:
Care for up to four infants or four toddlers at a time, usually working with a second caregiver. Provide a safe, clean, and nurturing environment while supporting each child’s daily routine and development.

Key Responsibilities:

• Feed, diaper, soothe, and supervise infants throughout the day
• Follow feeding and nap schedules for each child
• Safely place infants into cribs and lift them out as needed
• Frequently pick up and carry infants, including from the floor, cribs, and seating equipment
• Engage infants with simple, age-appropriate activities and interaction
• Maintain a clean and organized classroom, including sanitizing toys and equipment
• Work closely with a co-caregiver to ensure proper supervision and care
• Communicate with parents and staff about each child’s day

Requirements:

• Experience with infants required
• Ability to safely and repeatedly lift and carry infants (typically 10–30 pounds) throughout the day
• Ability to bend, squat, and reach to pick up children from the floor, place them into cribs, and lift them out
• Comfortable being on your feet for most of the day
• CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Must meet all licensing and background check requirements

Work Environment:
Active daycare setting with frequent lifting, carrying, and floor-level work, often alongside another caregiver.
