Bunny Bunch Daycare & Pre-K is seeking a dependable, organized, and experienced Closing Director to help oversee the daily operations of our center during the afternoon and closing hours.

This is a hands-on leadership position. The Closing Director will help oversee the center, support teachers and classrooms, communicate with families, and ensure the building is properly and safely closed at the end of each day.

Position Responsibilities

The Closing Director will:

• Oversee the center during afternoon and closing hours.
• Provide leadership and support to teachers and staff throughout the center.
• Fill in and assist in classrooms as needed to maintain appropriate staffing and ratios.
• Be available to help teachers with classroom needs, student needs, and parent questions.
• Answer incoming phone calls and assist families with general questions.
• Greet and communicate professionally with parents and families during pick-up.
• Assist with addressing staff or parent concerns that may arise during closing hours.
• Monitor classrooms and common areas to ensure center policies and procedures are being followed.
• Help ensure appropriate child-to-staff ratios and proper supervision are maintained.
• Assist with end-of-day staffing adjustments as children leave for the day.
• Make sure classrooms and shared spaces are left clean, organized, and ready for the following day.
• Complete end-of-day walkthroughs of the center.
• Ensure doors, classrooms, equipment, lights, and other areas of the building are properly secured or shut down at closing.
• Confirm that all children have been safely picked up and appropriate closing procedures have been completed.
• Communicate important information, incidents, staffing concerns, or parent concerns to administration.
• Maintain confidentiality and follow all Bunny Bunch and NYS child care policies and regulations.
• Perform additional administrative or classroom duties as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field required.
• Previous experience working in an early childhood or child care setting preferred.
• Previous leadership, supervisory, or administrative experience is a plus.
• Strong understanding of child development and developmentally appropriate practices.
• Ability to confidently oversee staff and make decisions when needed.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Must be dependable, flexible, and comfortable working in both an administrative and classroom setting.
• Must be willing to step into classrooms and be an active part of the center rather than working solely in an office.

Schedule

• Must be available to work until 5:30 PM on scheduled workdays.
• Position can be part-time or full-time depending on the candidate's availability and the needs of the center.
• We are willing to create a flexible schedule for the right candidate.
• Exact start time and weekly hours can be discussed based on whether the candidate is seeking part-time or full-time employment.

Compensation

$20.00–$25.00 per hour, depending on education, qualifications, and relevant experience.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal Closing Director is someone who enjoys being part of the day-to-day operations of a busy early childhood center. This person should be comfortable taking the lead when needed while also being willing to jump into a classroom, answer a phone call, help a teacher, speak with a parent, or handle whatever may come up during the afternoon.

We are looking for someone who is dependable, approachable, organized, flexible, and confident in a leadership role and who will help ensure Bunny Bunch ends each day safely, smoothly, and successfully.

Pay: $20.00–$25.00/hour based on education and experience
