VAC Enrichment provides engaging, project-based learning experiences for students from PreK through 12th grade. Our programs focus on STEAM, life skills, creativity, and hands-on learning. Working with schools across the country, we strive to make education engaging, inclusive, and accessible for students from diverse backgrounds.

We are looking for dependable, enthusiastic educators to join our team and help students learn, explore, and build new skills through our after-school enrichment programs.

Position Overview: A Great Opportunity for Supplemental Income

This is a part-time position designed for individuals seeking supplemental income, not full-time employment.

Our programs operate at a school location in Reynoldsburg - Monday through Friday. Most teaching assignments average approximately one hour per day, making this an excellent opportunity for educators, college students, teaching assistants, camp counselors, and childcare professionals who want to earn additional income alongside other commitments.

Depending on the program and staffing needs, you may teach independently or work alongside another VAC Enrichment instructor. Teachers must be comfortable managing a classroom independently when assigned to do so.

Please review the following expectations before applying:

• Short shifts: Programs generally run for approximately one hour per day, with some assignments lasting up to two hours.
• Part-time work: Weekly hours are limited and depend on the assigned schedule. This role is not intended to provide full-time hours.
• Summer opportunities: Full-time opportunities may become available during the summer season, but they are not guaranteed and are not available through this position during the current school-year session.
• Transportation is your responsibility: You must have reliable transportation and be able to commute independently to the assigned school location. Travel time, mileage, parking, and commuting expenses are not reimbursed.
• In-person instruction: All programs take place at the assigned school site in Jamaica Plain, MA.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging, hands-on lessons using VAC Enrichment's provided curriculum.
• Adapt activities to meet the needs of students across different ages and skill levels.
• Create a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment.
• Maintain classroom management and keep students actively engaged.
• Prepare materials and organize activities for each session.
• Follow all VAC Enrichment and school policies and procedures.
• Communicate professionally with school staff, families, and VAC Enrichment leadership as needed.
• Arrive on time and consistently fulfill all scheduled teaching commitments.

Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who is reliable, adaptable, and enthusiastic about working with children.

Preferred qualifications include:

• Experience teaching, tutoring, coaching, or working in childcare, camps, or after-school programs.
• Strong classroom management and student engagement skills.
• Comfort working with mixed-age groups.
• Ability to follow a curriculum while adapting activities to students' needs.
• Ability to work independently and take responsibility for a classroom.
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Dependable attendance and punctuality.

Experience in education is preferred, but candidates with relevant youth-development, coaching, or childcare experience are encouraged to apply.

Requirements

• Must be able to commute independently to the assigned location in Jamaica Plain, MA.
• Must be available for the assigned weekday schedule.
• Must be comfortable teaching independently or collaborating with another instructor, depending on the program.
• Must successfully complete the required background screening.
• Must follow all school-site and VAC Enrichment safety requirements.
• CPR and First Aid certifications are preferred but not required.

Compensation and Schedule

• Job Type: Part-time, in-person, contract teaching opportunity
• Pay: $45 per teaching hour for an Assistant and $55 for Lead Teachers
• Location: Reynoldsburg, OH
• Schedule: Monday–Friday, based on assigned classes
• Typical daily assignment: Approximately one hour
• Potential weekly earnings: Up to $375 per week for five one-hour teaching shifts, assuming all five shifts are scheduled and completed at the stated rate
• Benefits: Flexible scheduling based on program availability; no guaranteed minimum weekly hours

Please note that compensation is based on assigned teaching hours. Commuting time and transportation expenses are not paid. This position does not guarantee five shifts per week or a fixed weekly income.
