Childcare Teacher / Director

Position Description

The director is a warm, sensitive, and mature individual who relates well to children and adults. This individual is accountable for general supervision and management of the child care program. The director is responsible for the planning, implementing and supervising of the childcare program, reporting to the pastor or head teacher, and child care committee.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide a Christian model and example in one’s attitudes and actions
• Encourage spiritual growth in students by developing inner discipline, character, morals and values
• Maintain active parent communication through emails, notes, and other forms of communication
• Work closely with parents to ensure quality care for all children
• Ensure effective and clear communication with staff and parents
• Stay current with new developments in the field of early childhood education

Early Childhood Teacher:

• Prepare instructional activities allowing for individual differences among the students
• Encourage integrated instruction whenever possible
• Proved a secure and comfortable learning environment
• Take responsibility for the care of instructional materials and equipment

Childcare Director:

• Program operations: Supervise and coordinate registration and enrollment; provide tours and promptly contact those inquiring about enrollment;plan for parent/child orientation; maintain appropriate student records and files; purchase of groceries, materials, and supplies for operation
• Daily operations: Scheduling and care of child in program; schedule staff for all hours of operation 7:30am-5:30pm
• Staff operations: train, manage and evaluate employees of child care program
• Administrative operations: work closely with the child care committee on contracts, financials, budget, enrollment and planning.

• Strong organizational skills
• Ability to establish and maintain good interpersonal relationships with parents/guardians, children, and teachers
• Ability to multitask and problem solve

Qualifications:

Early Childhood training desirable

Previous experience in early childhood or child care facility is desirable

CPR Certification by of start date

Pay: From $36,000.00 per year
