Job Summary

Duties

• Prepare nutritious meals and snacks tailored to children's dietary requirements, following approved menus and recipes
• Plan weekly menus incorporating balanced nutrition, variety, and appealing presentation
• Handle food preparation tasks including food handling, dicing and food preparation to ensure high-quality dishes
• Maintain strict food safety standards by sanitizing kitchen surfaces, utensils, and equipment according to sanitizing procedures
• Manage high-volume food production efficiently while maintaining quality and consistency
• Assist with catering or special event meal preparations as needed
• Serve meals in a friendly manner, ensuring proper portioning and presentation while adhering to safety protocols

Requirements

• Proven experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide within childcare or healthcare settings
• Strong culinary skills including menu planning, food preparation, knife skills, and cooking techniques
• Knowledge of food safety management practices and sanitizing procedures in a commercial kitchen environment
• Experience with food production and meal service
• Familiarity with dietary restrictions and nutritional guidelines specific to children’s health needs
• Ability to work efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in food handling and presentation
• Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and ensure smooth kitchen operations
