Duties

• Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans aligned with early childhood education standards, including literacy, math, physical education, and social skills.
• Create a safe, welcoming classroom environment that promotes positive behavior management and classroom management strategies.
• Conduct ongoing assessments of child development and tailor activities to meet individual needs, including those requiring special education or early intervention support.
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about children’s progress, milestones, and any concerns related to child welfare or behavior.
• Lead age-appropriate activities that promote physical movement, cognitive development, and social interaction among toddlers and preschoolers.
• Ensure compliance with mandated reporting laws and maintain accurate documentation of incidents or developmental assessments.
• Collaborate with colleagues to plan curriculum updates, participate in staff meetings, and contribute to a team-oriented approach to early childhood education.

Qualifications

• Proven experience working with children in a childcare or preschool setting; classroom experience preferred.
• Knowledge of childhood development principles, curriculum development, and classroom management techniques.
• Certification in first aid and CPR is required; additional certifications in special education or early intervention are a plus.
• Strong communication skills for effective parent communication and teamwork.
• Familiarity with standardized testing methods used in early childhood education.
• Ability to implement lesson plans that incorporate literacy education, math skills, physical activities, and social-emotional learning.
• Experience teaching physical education or working with students requiring special accommodations is advantageous.
• Commitment to child welfare laws and best practices in childcare settings.
