Teacher – Two-Year-Old Classroom

Do you love helping young children learn, grow, and discover the world around them? Polk Street CDC is looking for a warm, enthusiastic, and dependable Lead Teacher to join our team and lead our Two-Year-Old Classroom.

This is an opportunity to make a meaningful difference during an important stage of early childhood development. We are looking for someone who enjoys the energy and curiosity of two-year-olds and can create a classroom that is safe, nurturing, structured, and full of opportunities to learn through play.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Previous experience working with toddlers or young children preferred.
• Knowledge of toddler development and age-appropriate activities.
• Strong classroom management and positive behavior guidance skills.
• Patient, nurturing, dependable, and able to work as part of a team.
• Good communication skills with families, coworkers, and administration.
• High School diploma or GED required.
• CPR/First Aid certification preferred or willingness to obtain.
• Ability to meet childcare licensing and center requirements.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide daily care, supervision, and age-appropriate activities for two-year-olds.
• Maintain consistent classroom routines, including meals, diapering/toileting, nap, and outdoor play.
• Promote positive behavior, social skills, language development, and independence.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom.
• Communicate professionally with parents regarding their child’s day and development.
• Complete required classroom documentation and follow all health, safety, and licensing requirements.
• Work cooperatively with the Assistant Teacher, administration, and other CDC staff.
• Participate in staff meetings and professional development.

Pay: From $13.00 per hour

Expected hours: 25.0 – 40.0 per week
