Child Care Assistant Teacher

Duties

• Assist lead teachers in implementing age-appropriate activities that promote social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development
• Supervise children during classroom activities, outdoor play, meals, naps, and transitions to ensure safety at all times
• Support children with daily routines such as diapering, toileting, and handwashing in accordance with health and safety standards
• Engage children in educational play that encourages curiosity, creativity, and learning through hands-on experiences
• Maintain a clean and organized classroom environment by sanitizing toys and materials regularly
• Communicate effectively with parents regarding their child's progress, behavior, and needs to foster strong partnerships
• Follow mandated reporting laws and procedures to report any concerns related to child safety or well-being

Experience

• Prior experience working with young children in daycare centers, preschools, or similar settings is highly preferred
• Knowledge of childhood development principles and child supervision techniques
• Experience working with children with disabilities or special needs is a plus
• Certification in first aid and CPR (Childhood/ Pediatric First Aid) is required or obtainable upon hire
• Familiarity with classroom management strategies and behavior management techniques
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team of educators and caregivers
• Strong communication skills for engaging with parents and team members effectively

Pay: $21.00 - $25.00 per hour
