Child Care Assistant Teacher

Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Teacher Assistant to join our vibrant educational team. Responsibilities

• Assist lead teachers in implementing daily lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards, including literacy, math, and social skills development
• Support children with diverse needs, including those with developmental disabilities, autism, or other special education requirements, ensuring they receive personalized attention
• Use effective classroom management techniques to promote positive behavior and maintain a safe, orderly environment
• Facilitate communication with children using American Sign Language (ASL) or other augmentative communication methods as needed
• Help prepare classroom materials, set up learning activities, and organize educational resources to enhance student engagement
• Monitor and document student progress through observations and assessments, including Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals
• Collaborate with teachers and specialists to develop tailored lesson plans that support early childhood development and literacy education
• Support toddlers and preschool-aged children in their daily routines, including potty training, snack time, and nap schedules
• Maintain open communication with parents or guardians regarding student progress and behavioral concerns

Qualifications

• Prior experience working with children in classroom settings or childcare environments is highly preferred
• Knowledge of childhood development principles, early childhood education practices, and classroom management strategies
• Familiarity with special education concepts such as IEP implementation and behavior management techniques
• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) or willingness to learn ASL is a plus
• Experience working with individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges is advantageous
• Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with teachers, parents, and students
• Ability to adapt lesson plans for diverse learners and support inclusive classroom environments
• Relevant certifications or coursework in early childhood education or special education are desirable
• Passion for working with children across various age groups including toddlers, preschoolers, and early elementary students

Pay: $18.00 - $19.25 per hour
