Child Care Assistant

Responsibilities

• Supervise children during daily activities, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times
• Assist with implementing age-appropriate educational activities that promote childhood development and learning
• Support classroom routines including meal times, nap times, and outdoor play
• Communicate effectively with parents regarding their child's progress, behavior, and needs
• Maintain a clean and organized classroom environment that encourages exploration and learning
• Follow mandated reporting laws to report any concerns related to child safety or well-being
• Support children with special needs or disabilities by adapting activities and providing personalized care when necessary

Qualifications

• Prior experience working with children in daycare, preschool, or early childhood education settings is highly preferred
• Knowledge of childhood development principles and child supervision techniques
• Certification in first aid and CPR (including pediatric first aid) is required or willing to obtain upon hire
• Experience working with children with disabilities or special needs is a plus
• Strong communication skills for engaging with children, parents, and team members
• Classroom experience in early childhood settings or daycare centers is desirable
• Ability to manage behavior effectively using positive guidance strategies
• Familiarity with mandated reporting laws related to child safety and welfare

Pay: $27,000.00 - $30,000.00 per year
